Often, the missing link is changing behavior from individual contributor to leader, which includes stepping back from work, empowering associates, and redefining your objectives to include developing the business unit rather than specific project components.
I have been involved with Toastmasters and public speaking for several years now. Most people would rather wrestle a tiger than stand in front of a crowd and speak. Still, in today’s world, public speaking is unavoidable, particularly as you move up the ranks in Corporate America. I focus on storytelling, speech cleanup, and presentation. Visibility is an excellent opportunity to define your brand and leave an impression on leaders and colleagues. Concentrating on each presentation with intention and clarity is vital.
Lastly, my corporate upbringing taught me much about time management and work-life balance. Raising children while proving your value in corporate spaces is often challenging. I am happy to share ideas around owning your time rather than letting your time own you, prioritizing deep work, and setting boundaries so you are not intruding on your most important objectives.
